The definitions of the words history, art, literature, society, socio-economics, and film can all be easily compared and contrasted to the term humanities. The term humanities means different branches of learning that research the way humans are made and what disturbs their natural human functions and ways they relate to the outside world. I believe this term can be related to the other terms history, art, literature, and film because these are all ways that humans behave uniquely and express themselves without a specific set of rules or restrictions. By understanding humanities people are able to interpret why and how humans function in multiple forms such as creativity. I think that the term society can be related to humanities because it is society who is being studied and understood through learning and through their particular interests. Finally, humanities can be related to the term socio-economics because again society is involved as well as the economics such as money and business which are all relevant in any human’s life and they way in which they live. Some of the ways that these terms can be contrasted to humanities is through art, literature, and film because these forms of human expression do not necessarily have reason and therefore are not always able to be interpreted and understood. I think that a lot of the reasons that humans are the way that they are involve more of the sciences of chemistry and biology, which humanities does not cover.
